Terms of service

The short version of how Workfence is provided to a company and its people.

The service

Workfence is a workforce attendance, live site tracking and payroll-data platform for construction companies, provided as a mobile app and a web application. A company creates an account, adds its sites and its crew, and the crew signs in with the details the company added.

Accounts

A person's access exists because a company invited them. The company decides roles — employee, manager, administrator — and can change or end them. A person may hold memberships at more than one company; each is separate.

The company's responsibilities

The company is responsible for telling its people that attendance and, during shifts, location are recorded, and for having a lawful basis to do so where it operates. It sets the tracking policy, retention and allowance rules, and it is responsible for the payroll decisions it makes with the data.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to record anyone outside an active, authorised shift, to check in on another person's behalf, or to access a company's data you are not a member of.

Availability and changes

The app is built to keep working without signal: anything captured offline is queued and uploads on reconnect. We may change or improve the service; material changes to these terms will be notified to the company.
